Our team is keen to support progress towards environmental, economic and social sustainability. To do this we spend time in front of computers. We also take opportunities to enjoy the great outdoors, partly as a reminder of why we do the work we do.

Vernon John Rogers
 

Vernon Rogers has over 40 years of experience in civil and environmental engineering, management and technology development, obtained in Canada, the USA, the United Kingdom and West Africa. He has been part of organizations responsible for the planning, design, operation and maintenance of a range of water, wastewater and infrastructure facilities. His expertise includes project management, direction of technical organizations, design and construction of water storage, supply and conservation works and irrigation projects. He has worked in organizations concerned with technology development and has taught courses in environmental technology. He has experience with municipal, regional, provincial and federal government organizations. 

Vernon Rogers holds a degree in Civil Engineering and studied as a Fulbright Scholar for a postgraduate degree with a specialization in Water Resources. He has managed the Sustainable infrastructure Society since its incorporation in 2005; he is a registered Professional Engineer in British Columbia.


 Katherine Trajan M.Sc.

Katherine Trajan’s work with SIS focuses on water conservation and strategic planning services for water suppliers in BC. She previously worked as a researcher in The Netherlands, where she was project manager for the development of an international network on climate adaptation in large river deltas. She also coordinated sessions for the World Water Forum in Istanbul. In these roles Katherine worked with government organizations, private companies, NGOs and research institutions in Europe, Asia and North America. She has also contributed to groundwater supply and water resource management projects on Vancouver Island.

Katherine holds an M.Sc. in Water Science, Policy and Management from Oxford University, which she attended as a Rhodes Scholar. She also holds a B.Eng. in Civil Engineering from McGill University, with minors in Environmental Engineering and World Religions. She also has training and experience in facilitating group decision-making processes and team-building workshops.
