About

The Edge Benefits Plan provides you and your staff with "lifestyle protection". This plan is suited to community water supply organizations and others associated with the water industry in BC. The plan provides injury and illness benefits to age 70 and offers a more beneficial definition of disability as compared to other simplified solutions on the market. The Edge Benefits Plan is brought to you through WaterBC.ca and our Industry Partners who are experienced insurance industry specialists. You contract directly with an Industry Partner for these services.

Benefits

An affordable Loss of Income Benefit is designed for a wide range of occupations. Benefits are based on Earned Income or Gross Revenue. Add additional benefits to suit your individual needs, including Accidental Death and Dismemberment, Business Overhead Expense, Health & Dental benefits and the Edge Travel Medical Emergency plan.

Plan Features

  • Injury only coverage is guaranteed to issue*
  • Income benefits are based on earned income or gross revenue
  • $1,000 – $4,000/month income benefit
  • 0-, 30- or 120-day waiting period (for injury coverage)
  • Long term disability benefits to age 70
  • $10,000 accident medical benefit included
  • Illness coverage can also be added.
  • Optional benefits

  • Business overhead expense coverage in the event a key person of the business becomes disabled
  • Accidental death and dismemberment $100,000, $200,000 or $300,000 to choose from
  • Out of province coverage
  • $5,000,000 emergency out of province, providing unlimited trips of up to 30 days per trip; no pre-existing condition Stability Period for insured under age 65
  • Guaranteed Issue Critical Illness and Final Expense Benefits up to $25,000
  • Health and Dental coverage.
  • This is a brief overview of benefits. In the event of any inconsistencies between this overview and the wording of the policy, the actual policy wording will prevail.

    Costs and Administration

    A monthly premium is charged for your benefits coverage. The amount of the premium for disability coverage depends on age and income. Once you complete and submit an application it will be reviewed by an experienced insurance agent. Following review of your completed application you will be contacted with a quote for your premium and further information.

    To Apply

    To apply for coverage you must first become a WaterBC.ca Registered User. As a Registered User, you may then download the application forms by clicking on the links below. Once you have downloaded the application form, please print them, complete them by pen, and mail the forms directly to the WaterBC.ca Industry Partner shown below.

    IMPORTANT: you must mail forms with original signatures; photocopies and facsimiles will not be accepted. You must also provide a void cheque.
